This mismatched set of three studs is cast from seeds collected by Wild Seed Project, a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to native plant advocacy.
The seeds are from meadow species native to New England: partridge pea, golden alexander, and common milkweed.
From the artist: I started Thicket for fellow lovers of nature - for anyone who has ever picked up a smooth stone or seed pod and slipped it into their pocket as a way to carry a small piece of landscape with them.
I make each piece by hand from castings of botanical samples and natural objects in my sunny Maine studio. My aim is to preserve the small details of the natural world that have always fascinated me. Thicket's entire process is deeply tactile and sustainability is a key focus of Thicket's design and production practices.
Thicket jewelry is made almost entirely with reclaimed fine metals and is working constantly to move closer to using 100% recycled metals.
