Raaka's fruit-infused, nut-free take on gianduja. Traditionally, gianduja is a chocolate with at least 30% hazelnut paste. Since Raaka is entirely nut-free, they use sunflower seed butter instead of hazelnuts to create that creamy texture and nutty-but-nut-free flavor. Crushed strawberry bits add a jammy contrast to the earthy sunflower seed butter. This bar tastes like a PB&J!
This bar is made with organic, Smithsonian Bird-Friendly certified cacao from Zorzal Cacao in the Dominican Republic. Zorzal is the first cocoa grower to receive this official Bird Friendly™ certification.
At this 1,019-acre bird reserve in the heart of the Dominican Republic, cacao is grown through agroforestry, planted alongside native trees that are home to crucial bird and wildlife species, such as the Bicknell's Thrush. Over 70% of the Zorzal reserve is designated as “forever wild", meaning the forest is preserved and not used for agriculture. Cacao meets conservation!
