Inspired by marled knitwear, Pepper is an especially textural weave that incorporates multiple hues. It was developed through an iterative process in The Chilewich New York design studio, where a series of handlooms ultimately yielded a harmonious balance of subtle patterns, versatile color combinations, and a uniquely tactile quality.  

Made from woven textiles, these floor mats are durable, versatile, beautiful, and easy to clean. Chilewich flatweave floormats are ideal for medium-to-low-traffic areas including living and dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and hallways.

CARE: 
INDOOR USE:
- Do not iron. Do not machine wash. Do not use Acetone, Pine-Sol, or citrus-based cleaners as they can damage or discolor the Chilewich products.
- May be used on radiant heated floors provided the temperature does not exceed 85°F/30°C.
- When moving or storing, roll up your mat with the weave facing outward.
- It is recommended to occasionally lift and air out your woven floormat, which will allow both your mat and the flooring surface to ventilate and stay dry. This will prevent moisture and contaminants from discoloring the floor or the back of the floormat.
- When placed atop a textured surface, the latex backing of your mat may become abraded. This will not affect the woven face of the mat or its performance. A rug pad may be used to prevent this issue.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR OUTDOOR USE:
- Chilewich woven mats can be used outdoors and will perform well with proper maintenance.
- Best suited on dry surfaces.
- As with indoor use, make sure to air out the mat occasionally by turning it over. All Chilewich mats are made with the latest color technology to prevent fading. But, like all textiles, the mats may fade when placed in full sun for protracted periods.
- When placed atop a textured surface, the latex backing of your mat may become abraded. This will not affect the woven face of the mat or its performance. A rug pad may be used to prevent this issue.

TO CLEAN: 
- Vacuum to remove loose dirt. Blot spills quickly with a lint-free cloth.
- Spot cleaning: Vacuum to remove loose dirt. If necessary, follow up with a residential carpet cleaner or damp mop the surface. Lift the mat off the floor and allow face and backing to air dry completely before placing the mat on the floor again.

Backing: These floor mats are cushioned with a commercial grade, durable latex backing that prevents slipping and curling and finished with self-bound edges for a refined look. No rug pad is needed.

Phthalate-free TerraStrand yarns and synthetic latex; the rug contains a minimum of 18% recycled content and a minimum of 8% rapidly renewable content.
